Helen Gordon Cumming

     Helen Gordon Cumming married Sir Archibald Dunbar 6th Bart of Northfield, son of Sir Alexander Dunbar 5th Bart of Northfield and Margaret Arbuthnott, on 6 November 1794. She was the daughter of Col Sir Alexander Penrose Cumming-Gordon of Altyre, 1st Bart. They had issue Helen ((Warden), Margaret (Macintosh), Alexander died yourng, Jane (Clavering), Georgina, Archibald, John who married Sophia Hagar, William who died in India, Charles- East India Service, Louis, Thomas, Emilia & Edward.
     Helen died on 16 March 1819.

     Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar 8th Bart of Northfield was born on 5 April 1828 in Cramond, Midlothian. See Burke's Peerage online for later details of this family. He was the son of Sir Archibald Dunbar 7th Bart of Northfield and Keith Alicia Ramsay. Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar 8th Bart of Northfield was christened on 9 May 1828 in Cramond, Midlothian.
     Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar 8th Bart of Northfield served in the military in the Army in 1854. He was appointed Captain in the 66th Regiment of Foot. See Burke for his marriage and issue.
     Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar 8th Bart of Northfield married Isabella Mary Eyre on 15 July 1865.

Archibald Hamilton Dunbar, 72, landowner, baronet, late Capt of.. Regt born Scotlandm with wife Isabella aged 56, born Berkshire, Welford, and 4 servants.
     Archibald died on 6 June 1910 aged 82. The Times on 10 June 1910: reported: Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar, seventh baronet, of Northfield, died on Monday it his Scottish seat, Duffus House, Elgin, in his 63rd year. Sir Archibald was the elder son of the sixth baronet by his first wife, Keith Alicia, daughter of Mr. George Ramsay, of Barnton, Mid Lothian. He entered the Army and served in the Berkshire Regiment for some years. After his retirement from the service and his succession to the title, in 189S, he devoted his leisure to historical and antiquarian studies, and some years ago published “Scottish Kings: A Chronology of Scottish History.” He married in 1865 Isabella Mary, elder daughter of Mr. Charles Eyre, of Welford Park, Berks. There is no issue of the marriage, and the successor to the title is Sir Archibald’s half-brother. the Rev. Dr. Charles Gordon Cumming Dunbar, late Archdeacon of Grenada, whose wife, a daughter of Mr. W. C. Wentworth, the Australian statesman, died in 1891, leaving a daughter. The heir presumptive to the title is now, Mr. Arbuthnot John Dunbar, R.F.A., a great-grandson of the fifth baronet..
