     Helen Tindal was born on 16 March 1823 in Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland. She was born at Leith according to the 1851 census.. She was the daughter of Thomas Tindal and Catherine Ross. Helen Tindal was christened on 20 April 1823 in Cromarty. Helen was employed in March 1851. Jean, Harriet and Helen were listed as the children of Catherine Ross in the 1851 census in Church Street, Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty.

     Harriet Tindal was born on 11 May 1825 in Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland. She was the daughter of Thomas Tindal and Catherine Ross. Harriet Tindal was christened on 22 May 1825 in Cromarty.
     Harriet Tindal appeared on the 1841 census in the household of Thomas Tindal and Catherine Ross in Church Street, Cromarty. Jean, Harriet and Helen were listed as the children of Catherine Ross in the 1851 census in Church Street, Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty. Harriet was a housemaid in 1851.
     Harriet Tindal was mentioned in the kirk session records on 21 November 1852 in Cromarty. At the same time compeared by citation Hariot Tindal who being interrogated confessed she gave birth to a male child in fornication on 14 July last and that George Sinclair, a native of the parish of Halkirk? in the county of Caithness now in Edinburgh was the father of her child. This being the record? the said Herriot Tindal been guilty of the sin of fornication the Session therefore defer this case until she received an acknowledgement of the paternity from the imputed father who she says is willing to acknowledge the same. In the meantime the said Hariot Tindal being rebuked & exhorted by the moderate, the Session closed with prayer.
     Harriet Tindal was mentioned in the kirk session records on 21 August 1853 in Cromarty. Compeared Harriot Tindal in reference to a former minute of the Session of date 21 September 1852 and produced a letter of acknowledgment from the father of her child in the said letter he frankly declares the paternity and se... her to have the said child baptised. The Session being satisfied with the acknowledgement in the said letter do agree to the child being baptised & the said Hariot Tindal be suitably exhorted & admonished by the Moderate and absolved from the scandal & restored to her former privileges. Harriet was present at John Sinclair's christening on 21 August 1853 in Cromarty, ROC, SCT. Sinclair, John: illegitimate son to George Sinclair a native of Cadburgh [Leadburgh?] and Harriot Tindal in Cromarty was born 14 July 1852 and baptised 21 August 1853..

Catharine Tindal

     Catharine Tindal was born on 9 October 1827 in Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland. She was the daughter of Thomas Tindal and Catherine Ross. Catharine Tindal was christened on 14 October 1827 in Cromarty.
     Catharine Tindal appeared on the 1841 census in the household of Thomas Tindal and Catherine Ross in Church Street, Cromarty.
     Catharine died on 5 December 1842 in Cromarty, ROC, SCT, aged 15. She was buried in the Gaelic churchyard, Cromarty.
