Emily Alice Bland

(17 April 1875 - 29 November 1931)
     Emily Alice Bland was born on 17 April 1875 in Yarram, Victoria. She was the daughter of Abraham Bland and Harriet Bullett.
     Emily was educated from 1885 at Primary School 1622, Valencia Creek. She was a bridesmaid at Richard Williams and Sarah Bland's wedding on 23 December 1891 in Victoria.
     Emily Alice Bland married George Evans Ruby, son of George Ruby and Sarah Evans, on 18 March 1896 in 'Aylesbury', Yarram, Victoria. RUBY-BLAND - On tho 18th ult, at the residence of the bride's parents, Aylesbury, Yarram, by the Rev P N Knight, BA, George Evans Ruby, eldest son of G Ruby, Esq , of Yarram, to Emily Alice, youngest daughter of A Bland, Esq.
     Emily was registered as as Emily Alice Ruby, home duties at Balloong, on the 1908 electoral roll.
     Emily Alice Bland lived at Balloong, 1910.
     Emily Alice Bland was on the passenger list of the "Moldavia" dated June 1912 from England. She returned to Victoria.
     Emily was registered at Yarram, on the 1912 electoral roll. She and George Evans Ruby witnessed Henry Refshauge MacKenzie and Mavis Bland Ruby's wedding on 24 March 1919 in the Methodist Church manse, Royal Parade, Royal Park, Victoria.
     Emily died on 29 November 1931 in Yarram, Victoria, aged 56. She was buried in Yarram.
     Her will was proved at Victoria.
