Peter the son of Sam is too young [44] to be the tenant at Edengarrock who was aged 60 in 1841, and most of the baptisms of his children were witnessed by James Emslie of Backbrae who was born at Tullynessle, so I doubt whether these events relate to John's brother Peter.
Peter Emslie married Barbara Ledingham before 1822. There is an inventory for Margaret Emslie or Ledingham, widow of Peter Emslie, farmer, Upper EdinGarioch, Premnay. NAS SC1/37/72 f. 175.
     Peter Emslie and Barbara Ledingham were recorded on the 1841 census in Premnay, Aberdeenshire. Peter Emslie, aged 60, farmer, Barbara 55, James, 15, Mary 15, Peter 15, Jennet, 14, Alexander 10, all born in the county.There were others (Wuksibm Tough ^ Ingam) in the same building.
     Peter died on 28 November 1845 in the Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen. His wife was described as a widow in the 1851 census at Premnay.

However at 'our' Peter's death his wife was given as Margaret, so very unlikely circa 1870, Woolwich, Kent, England. He and Jane Emslie, Samuel Emslie, Elizabeth Ann Emslie, John Emslie and Elizabeth Binnie (Watson) were beneficiaries in John Emslie's will proved 1 December 1874 in Aberdeen.
