Sir Bryan de Stapleton

     Sir Bryan de Stapleton was born in Yorkshire.
     Sir Bryan de Stapleton married Elizabeth de Aldeburgh, daughter of Sir William de Aldeburgh and Elizabeth Mowbray? - not de Lisle, say 1380.
     Bryan died in 1391 in Carlton, Yorkshire. He bore arms: Arms in Harewood church no.6 Stapleton. He bore argent, a lion rampant sable, langued and armed gules. He was a knight of the Garter, and slew a Saracen in camp fight, in the presence of three Kings.

     Sir Bryan de Stapleton was born after 1386 in Yorkshire. He was of Carlton. He was the son of Sir Bryan de Stapleton and Elizabeth de Aldeburgh.
     Sir Bryan de Stapleton and Sir William Ryther were mentioned on 18 October 1393.
     Sir Bryan de Stapleton married Agnes Goddard circa 1404 in Yorkshire.      
Sir Bryan de Stapleton was a Member of Parliament between 1415 and 1416.
     Bryan died on 13 October 1417 in Normandy, France. He was buried in Church of the Friars Preachers, York.
     Although Brian de Stapleton's son had predeceased him the Carlton line of the family was continued with his grandson, Brian Stapleton (b. circa 1385). and died young in 1418 leaving behind a son of five, Brian Stapleton (b. circa 1413), who inherited his estates in Carlton and Kentmere.
