     Maria Morewood was born on 3 October 1690 in The Oaks, Bradfield, Yorkshire. Described as the daughter of Samuel Morewood of the Oaks near Bradfield.. She was christened in October 1690 in Bradfield, Yorkshire.
     Maria Morewood married Joseph Steer, son of William Steer and Sarah Ludlam, on 17 November 1715 in Bradfield, YKS.
     Maria died in 1758 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.

     Charles Steer was christened on 25 October 1716 in St Peter, Sheffield, Yorkshire. He was the son of Joseph Steer and Maria Morewood. Charles was a silk merchant in Aldermanbury, London.
     Charles Steer made a will dated 5 April 1784 in Basinghall St, London. He mentions Joseph his father; Brothers Joseph and William; Nephews William Steer the Younger of Broad Street (Broker) and Charles Steer of Spitafields(Weaver); Nieces Martha Maria Andrews* wife of William Andrews of Basinghall Street

Joseph Steer

(7 March 1717/18 - 10 October 1794)
     Joseph Steer was christened on 7 March 1717/18 in St Peter, Sheffield, Yorkshire. He was the son of Joseph Steer and Maria Morewood.
     Joseph was registered on the 1741 electoral roll. Jos. Steer voted for C Turner, esq. in the 1741 poll at Sheffield, but more likely to be his father. No issue.
