     Millicent Steer was christened on 14 February 1720/21 in Ecclesfield, Yorkshire. He was the son of Rev William Steer and Ann Banks.
     Millicent died before 1745.

Charles Steer

(11 March 1724/25 - 6 October 1786)
     Charles Steer was christened on 11 March 1724/25 in Ecclesfield, Yorkshire. He was the third and youngest son, 9th child of William & Ann. He was the son of Rev William Steer and Ann Banks. Charles was a merchant in Wakefield.
     Charles Steer married Elizabeth Fretwell, daughter of Robert Fretwell and Bridget Gilby, on 16 August 1748 in St Nicholas, Bawtry, Blyth, Nottinghamshire/Yorkshire. Their daughter's marriage settlement makes reference to their settlement dated 13 August 1748. Charles Steer was widowed on 4 November 1749 on the death of his wife Elizabeth Fretwell.
     Charles Steer married secondly Sarah Allott on 2 July 1753 in South Kirkby, Yorkshire. Mr Charles Steer of Wakefield & Mrs Sarah Allot of South Kirkby.
     In Rev William Steer's will dated 1 May 1756 in Wath upon Dearne, Charles Steer was named as executor of the estate.
Charles Steer was mentioned in the register of duties paid for apprentices' indentures on 14 July 1757 in Wakefield. Charles Steer of Wakefield, merchant paid the indenture duty for his apprentice Michael Downs.
     In Charles Steer's will dated 8 August 1771 in Sandtoft, Belton, Lincolnshire, Charles Steer was named as executor of the estate.
     Charles Steer lived at Painthorpe, near Wakefield, Yorkshire. He was listed in a directory dated 1784 as Charles Steer & Son, merchants at Wakefield. In 1780 there were a Charles & William Steer, mercers listed in Kent's London directory at 6 Aldermanbury.
     Charles Steer lived at Painthorp, Sandall Magna, Yorkshire, 1785.
     Charles Steer made a will dated 1 February 1786. A copy will of Charles Steer of Painthrope, Yks was presented to the Prerogative Court of Armagh, Ireland in 1788.
     Charles died on 6 October 1786 in Wakefield?, Yorkshire, aged 61. He was buried on 29 October 1786 in Sandal Magna, Yorkshire. Mr Charles Steer of Painthorpe, merchant.

     Elizabeth Fretwell was christened on 30 July 1729 in Gringley on the Hill, Nottinghamshire. She was the daughter of Robert Fretwell of Gringley, Notts., by Bridget, daughter of Wil Gilby of Everton. She was the daughter of Robert Fretwell and Bridget Gilby.
     Elizabeth Fretwell married Charles Steer, son of Rev William Steer and Ann Banks, on 16 August 1748 in St Nicholas, Bawtry, Blyth, Nottinghamshire/Yorkshire. Their daughter's marriage settlement makes reference to their settlement dated 13 August 1748.
     Elizabeth died on 4 November 1749 in Wakefield, Yorkshire, aged 20. Here lieth the body of Mrs Elizabeth Steer, wife of Mr Charles Steer, mercht in this town who departed this life 4 November 1749 in the 21st year of her age. Also interred here: Henry Steer obt 21 Sept 1721 ae 4 years; Rob. Steer obt 2d March 1772 ae 10 days, son of the above Charles Steer by his second wife.
