     Jane Monkhouse Steer was christened on 19 June 1800 in St John's, Wakefield, Yorkshire. She was the daughter of William Steer and Dolly Wilson (Monkhouse).

Rev Charles Steer

(28 June 1756 - 12 November 1835)
     Rev Charles Steer was born on 28 June 1756 in Wakefield, Yorkshire. He was the son of Charles Steer and Sarah Allott. Rev Charles Steer was christened on 27 July 1757 in All Saints, Wakefield.
     Charles matriculated at St John's College, Cambridge University, from 1777 to 1781. He was admitted pensioner St John's 16 Apr 1777, of Yorkshire [son of Charles, merchant of Wakefield]. Born there 28 June 1756. School - Manchester, matric. Mich 1777, scholar 1777, B.A. 1781, Deacon 9 Mar 1781, Priest 22 July 1781. Curate of Sth Kirkby 1781. Rector of Axminster with Membury & Kilmington, Devon 1782-1835. "A great walker and a great talker". Twice married. Died 12 Nov 1835 at Axminster [Manchester School register, St John College Admissions, iv, 492; Gents Mag. 1836 i, 209; F.M.G. ii, 818].
     Rev Charles Steer married Jane Unknown. Charles was a clergyman between 1781 and 1835.
     Rev Charles Steer married Anne Karslake on 22 October 1811 in Filleigh, Devon. Charles Steer, vicar of the parish of Axminster & Anne Karslake, were married by Wm Karslake.
     Charles died on 12 November 1835 in Axminster, Devon, aged 79. He was twice married but died without surviving issue. His niece married Captain Edward Townsend.
     His will was proved on 1 February 1836 at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.

James Steer

     James Steer was christened on 19 October 1758 in All Saints, Wakefield, Yorkshire. He was the son of Charles Steer and Sarah Allott.
     James served as a soldier in the 7th Army. He died without issue.
