     He was possibly the Edward Rich of Thurlstone who was married to Mary and had a dispute with John Goddard between June 1641 and Jan 1641/2 which went to the West Riding Quarter Sessions [Y.A.S. Record series v.54 p.298,330]. But if so, cannot be the Edward Rich of Thurleston Meare whose estate was administered 3 Jan 1637/8 by Richard Hatfield. An Edward Rich of Royd was mentioned in Adam Eyre's diary Jan 24 1647/8. Edward Rich of Reynow & Royd who had a son named John according to Hunter.. Edward Rich was born before 4 November 1605? In Penistone, Yorkshire. Edward of Dakin Brook is linked here for convenience. There is no proof that he is Edward the son of John of Royd who was baptised in 1605 with Nicholas. He may be one and same as Edward of Milnhouse, his son or nobody. He was a contemporary of Edward of Ranow/Renall. He only appears at Cawthorne after his marriage to Mary Morton. He was christened on 4 November 1605 in Penistone, YKS. Edward & Nicholas sons of Richard Riche the iiij of November.. He was the son of Richard Rich and Frances Priest.

     Edward and Edward was a defendant in a court case on 10 June 1641 in Thurlstone, Penistone, Yorkshire, England. Edward Riche of Thurleston, yeoman, and Mary his wife, for breaking and entering there on 10 June 1641, along with many other persons unknown, the dwelling house of John Goddard and making an assault upon him and wounding and maltreating him. Witn. John Goddard. (At large. Put themselves, not guilty).

     Elizabeth Rich and John Sanderson were mentioned in a deed dated 14 February 1793 in Cawthorne. 1. Conveyance. John Sanderson of Little Houghton and others to Joseph Schofield. A messuage etc. at Raw Green in Cawthorne and sittings at Cawthorn church for 25 pounds; and agreement to levy a fine. 2. is a schedule of deeds referred to in the indenture, including conveyance of 1775 made by Sanderson, Elizabeth his wife and Ann & Martha Rich (all three ladies being daughters and heirs of Jonas Rich of Daw Walls in Cawthorne).
