     Duncan Robertson appeared on the 1841 census in the household of John Robertson and Elisabeth MacIntosh in Colleymun Moss settlers, Port of Menteith. Elisabeth, Peter and Duncan were listed as the children of John Robertson in the 1851 census in Culnamon of Cardross, Port of Menteith, Perthshire.
     Duncan Robertson married Isabella Sinclair on 20 January 1860 in Partick, Govan, Lanarkshire, Scotland. They were both of 52 Stewart St, she being a servant and he was a farm labourer.
     Duncan Robertson and Isabella Sinclair arrived per "Omeo" in March 1861 at Victoria, Australia, from Otago. Duncan Robertson witnessed Robert Allan's burial on 22 September 1874 in Maryborough.
     Duncan was a defendant in a court case between 1890 and 1891 in Maryborough. He was listed in the index to convictions, Maryborough Court of Petty Sessions: #2023 10 June 1890: Removing timber under size. 17 June 1890 #2185: Neglecting to send child to school, paid 24/6/90, ditto 16 December 1890 pd 17 March 1891. 18 January 1891 #2718: Taking loan? without a licence.. He was admitted to the hospital, Maryborough, Victoria, on 4 March 1907. He was aged 70 miner of Maryborough, Port of embarkation: Edinburgh, 45 years in colony, married, Presbyterian, native of Scotland.
     Duncan Robertson made a will dated 5 March 1907 in Victoria. Last will & testament of me Duncan Robertson of Derby Road, Maryborough, carter. I give and bequeath to my son Peter my watch and chain I give and bequeath to my wife all my real and personal property during her life... to my son William my cottage in Mariners Reef Road, Maryborough ... to my son Peter the cottage adjoining ... occupied by him ... to my son Duncan the sum of £25 and to divide the remainder equally between my children Duncan, Robert, Gilbert, David, Jennie, Isabella and Elizabeth ....
     Duncan and Isabella were registered as Duncan Robertson, miner, at Talbot Rd, Maryborough, on the 1908 electoral roll. Laanecoorie: Robertson, James, Tullaroop Rd, Maryborough, pensioner; but there was also Robinson, James & Mary Ann, Tullaroop Rd Maryborough, labourer & h.d.
     Duncan died on 29 January 1912 in Talbot Rd, Maryborough, Victoria, aged 72. He died "from injury to the spinal cord caused by a broken neck through accidently falling on his head from his buggy" - verdict of enquiry held 30 January. 50 years in Vic. He was a carter and old age pensioner. He was buried on 31 January 1912 in the Presbyterian section, Maryborough.
     His will was proved on 4 March 1912 at Victoria. His estate was valued at £354/3/7.

George Robertson of this parish bachelor & Elizabeth Dempster of the parish of Mitcham in the county of Surrye, spinster were married in this church by licence 17 August 1797. He signed Geo Robertson and she signed Elizabeth Dempster in the presence of James Dempster & Elizabeth.
     Capt George Robertson made a will dated 7 March 1799 in West Indies. In the Name of God Our Lord, Amen. I, the underwritten, being inclined to dispose by Testament of all the goods which the almighty has granted to me, do revoke all other last wills, dispositions, which I might have executed before the date of these presents, either separately or jointly with any other person or persons. I nominate and institute for my universal heirs of all my Estate and Effects, my dear Wife Elizabeth Dempster dwelling at Mitcham, Surrey, in England, for the --- one half thereof.      Rowena Gough wrote: Gilbert was recommended for the Victoria Cross for bravery under fire in rescuing a wounded soldier and collecting much needed armaments under heavy fire. It was rejected and it was suggested he receive the Distinguished Service medal, the next level down, but just at that time they stopped giving them and he was awarded a new medal, the Military Medal.
     Gilbert Gavan Robertson married Mafeking Pretoria Marshall in 1920 in Victoria.
     Gilbert and Mafeking were registered at Albert St, Maryborough, Surrey, on the 1922 electoral roll.
     Gilbert died on 12 August 1978 in Maryborough or Greensborough, Victoria, aged 81. He was buried in Maryborough, Victoria. 'Companion of Jean'.
