Peter Lindley wrote: I do have a database of all known Lindleys in and around the parish of Kirkburton and this database includes the John, George and Alice to whom you refer plus their other siblings Sarah baptised 18th March 1682-3 and Josias baptised 26th March 1687 buried 4th March 1692. Thay were the children of John Lindley and his wife Alice and are distantly related to me.
These Lindleys lived at (Hepworth) which is very near to the border of
Penistone Parish. The last house that John & Alice occupied still exists with the inscription 'JL 1687 AL' on the lintel.
Unfortunately, I do not think Alice's surname was Rich - unless she was a widow at marriage. The only marriage I can trace is at Penistone Church of a Johannes Lindley & Alicea Walker on 21st September 1680. This date lines up very well with the baptism of George the following year. I do not have a baptism date of either John or Alice although I can trace John back to around 1500. This has been done via both Church records, Wills and the Wakefield Manor Rolls.
Alice was buried 28th April 1692 and John died in 1707. I know this
because his eldest son George paid a heriot to the Lord of the Manor per the WCR dated 23rd May 1707
