     Mary Scott arrived per "Rodney" on 15 March 1854 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Mary Colbert, aged 46, housekeeper, born Bally na Clough, parents John & Mary Scott both dead, Church of England, both read & write, to join a brother David Scott in Chippendale, NSW, having paid £14 under the regulations. She was accompanied by Mary aged 23 & Joseph aged 21, her children, their father being dead.
The Immigration Deposit Journals list David Scott sponsoring Joseph aged 20, Mary aged 46 and Mary Ann aged 22 on 31 May 1853.
     Mary died on 7 March 1889 in Mt Buninyong, Victoria. She was buried on 8 March 1889 in Buninyong, Victoria.

     Sarah Ann Scott was born on 17 April 1857 in Bendigo, Victoria.
Sarah Ann Scott married William Bland, son of Abraham Bland and Harriet Bullett, on 25 October 1877 in Yarram, Victoria. MARRIAGE. BLAND - SCOTT. - On the 25th October, at Trinity Church, Yarram Yarram, by the Rev. Clark Rose, William, eldest son of A. Bland, Esq., to Sarah Anne eldest daughter of William Scott, Esq., both of Yarram.
     Sarah was registered as Sarah Ann Bland, home duties at Yarram on the 1908 electoral roll.
     Sarah died on 8 January 1928 in Yarram aged 70. She was buried on 10 January 1928 in the Methodist section of the Albert cemetery with her husband.

Angela Bramham wrote; Sterndale married Annie Phoebe Gray in Henley, Bucks in 1906. In the 1911 census they were in Colchester and had 2 daughters, Annie Althea b 1907 in Henley and Jenny Catherine? born about 1907 in Edmonton?, Essex. (the latter needs double checking in the BMD). Unfortunately I don't seem to have made a note of his occupation. His sister Althea married Isaac de Ville, 1908 in Lichfield. Staffs. In 1911 they were living in Ashby de la Zouch, Leics.

Baron Henry le Scrope

(29 September 1312 - 31 July 1391)
     Baron Henry le Scrope was born on 29 September 1312. He was the son of Geoffrey le Scrope (Lord of Masham) and Ivette de Ros.
Henry was father of Richard le Scrope, 1st Baron Scrope of Bolton (c. 1327-1403), chancellor of England, an active adherent of John of Gaunt. He was a knight of the shire of Yorkshire in the parliament of 1364, and was summoned to the upper house as a baron by writ in 1371, when he was made treasurer and keeper of the great seal. In 1378 Lord Scrope became chancellor, a role in which he attempted to curb the extravagance of King Richard II, an offence for which he was deprived of office in 1382. Scrope engaged in several disputes with regard to his armorial bearings, the most celebrated of which was with Sir Richard Grosvenor as to his right to the shield blazoned "Azure, a bend Or," which a court of chivalry decided in his favor after a controversy extending over four years. Both as a soldier and a statesman Lord Scrope was highly regarded.
     Henry died on 31 July 1391 in Ghent, Belgium, aged 78.
