     Charles was nick-named Busha. He was born circa 1835 in St Ann parish, Jamaica. He was the son of John Thomas Steer of Bradfield and Trafalgar Plantation. He was the son of John Thomas Steer.
     Charles William Steer was recorded on the 1851 census in Marlborough College, Wiltshire. Charles William Steer, pupil aged 16 born Jamaica.
     By 1878 he had inherited Bradfield Plantation & was leasing and managing others.
     Charles died in 1896.

     Sophia Jane Steer was born on 21 July 1844 in Budleigh, Devon. Her mother is only an assumption. Her birth date is from the Bengal. She was the daughter of Capt Sulivan Harrington Steer and Sarah Jane Baldwin.
     Sophia Jane Steer was placed in an orphanage on 1 December 1850 in Bengal Orphan Upper School, Calcutta, India. She was the daughter of Capt S H Steer and a pension was payable to Grandfather G W Steer Esq 39 Gay St, Bath. A Willim C Steer born 5 Oct 1846, was admitted 1 Mar 1857, but his father was listed as Cptn J N Steer and To whom pension payable: agents. She was listed as the niece of Ezekial Edmonds in the 1861 census in Berryfield House, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire.
