     Jane Mary Vivian was born in 1786 in Jersey, Channel Islands, UK. She was the daughter of Lieut Mathew Vivian of East Jersey militia. She was called Jeanne Marie at home according to Joyce Hicks in a letter dated 20 May 1991. Note that a Richard Hussey Vivian was Lt Col 7th Regt of Dragoons 1804 and listed in an Irish directory in 1807, possibly her brother by name patterns. However they came from Devon and she was from Jersey.
A Mathieu Vivan was mentioned in a document relating to a disputeon 15 Jan 1791.
Also mentioned: Testament of Elizabeth Le Cras, widow of Mathieu Vivian of St Saviour. Dated 14/06/1771. Desires to be buried in St Saviour's Cemetery. Bequeaths to the poor of St Saviour, £4 tournois of the order of the King.. She was christened on 7 September 1786 in St Saviour, Jersey, Channel Islands. Jeanne Marie Vivian, daughter of Matthieu & Anne (nee Dorey). She had a brother Matthieu George baptised there 24 Aug 1788. Her father was possibly baptised on20 Aug 1758.
Jane Mary Vivian married Major John Killigrew Dunbar, son of George Dunbar and Martha St Aubyn, circa 1821. Having cohabited or been married under other laws. In 1911 E H V Dunbar wrote the story is not a savoury one. It would seem that my grandfather married his second wife firstly with French, Jersey or Scotch law, and secondly some years before my father was born, he again married her with Church of England rites. At any rate, she had her jointure out of the Garrison estate, I lived with her until 1864. Only Henry H V was able to inherit from the Killigrew estate, the elder children by the second marriage being considered illegitimate. Joyce gives 1806 as a marriage date.
She had an annuity (marriage jointure) of £200 p.a. from the Garrison estate from 1852 to her death in 1864. Her grandson Edward Hussey Vivian lived with her until her death [letters dated 1910 & 1911].
She cared for her husband's grandaughter Clara from 1857.
Jane Mary Vivian was listed in a directory dated 1863 as Mrs Major Dunbar at Irishtown Road, Dublin.
     Jane died of cirrhosis of the liver on 30 July 1864 in Clifton Cottages, Irishtown, Dublin, Ireland. She was described as a widow aged 76.

She was the daughter of John Vodry and Mary Clark.
     Dorothy was buried on 9 August 1792 in St Michael, Bridgetown, Barbados.
