     Thomas died on 12 June 1792 in Yaxley, Huntingdonshire, aged 80. Grave slab in the south aisle of the church: Mr Thomas Bowker, June 12 1792 aged 80 years. This is not listed in the parish register.

(property) to William Barkson draper of Stamford, Rev Joseph Monkhouse of Duping, Lincs clerk, & my brother James Bowker their heirs and assigns to the use of my said son Thomas Bowker & my daughter Rebecca Bowker. ... if they die to the use of my nephew Thomas Bowker son of my said brother James Bowker ... upon trust ... provided always that as it is the wish of my said wife to reside at or near Mattersea Notts I will and direct that she shall reside near or within 10 or 12 miles therefrom ... after my said son Thomas Bowker shall attain the age of 31 years ... after my said daughter attains 25 years ... equally among my nephews & nieces the said Thomas Bowker and all the children of my said brother James of my sister Mrs Walsham and of my late sister Mrs Drake ... except that in case my nephew Bowker Walsham son of my said sister Mrs Walsham ... and I do hereby declare that the omission I have made of the children of my sister Mrs Nottingham is owing to the behaviour of one of that family ... is my wish that my son do reside at Mattesea afsd or near that place and that he do not on any account enter into or engage in any trade or business whatsoever ... dated 19 Feb 1802. Other notes from JNB: £15,00-, living at Blackfriars Rd, Sry.. all of his property and land and real estat to his executors for the use of his son Thomas Dawson and his daughter Rebecca equally divide3d geween them an their heirs. All his smoney, stocks and shares etc to be invested by his executors to procudece year interest of exactly £200 for the use of widow Elizabeth until her re-marriage or death - provided always she resided at or near (10-12 miles at Mattersey, Ntts, After son Thomas reaches age of 31 (1811) he is to receive £200 a year (He is not to have power to sell or change any of thr stock and interest).

     Thomas died on 4 March 1802 in London aged 57. The Bury & Norwich/Ipswich Post reported: Thomas Bowker Esquire, late an opulent tanner, of Yaxley, Hunts. He had retired from business only three months. On a tablet in the south wall of the Bell tower, St Peter's Clayworth: "Near this place are deposited ther remains of the Revd William Dawson who departed this life the 13 of March 1792, aged 74 years. He was rector of this parish 28 years. Also the remains of Thomas Bowker Esq., son-in-law, to the Revd William Dawson, who departed this life the 4 of March 1802, aged 59 years". He was buried on 18 March 1802 in Clayworth, Nottinghamshire.
     His will was proved on 12 April 1802 at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. His estate was valued at under £15,000.
