That John was probably born 02 July 1676 to William & Susan Godsmarke (Gosmarke - IGI) at Shermanbury who married there 27 June 1672. They also had William born 9 Feb 1672 Shermanbury, who died 24 Feb 1672, then William 22 March 1673 and possibly Henry 12 Jan 1679. Signed Robert Dempster. Witnesses: Richard Dempster & Thos. Turner. She was widowed on 20 June 1837 on the death of her husband Robert Osborn Dempster.

Lic Wit: Thomas Denne, Sarah Denne. Mary Elizabeth Denne witnessed the probate of the estate of Thomas Denne on 10 May 1821; Proved at London 10th May 1821 before the Judge by the oaths of Mary Elizabeth Hilton wife of the Reverend John Hilton Clerk the daughter, the said Rev John Hilton and John Bridges the Executors to whom administration was granted having first sworn by commission duly to administer. I
     n the 1861 census Mary Elizabeth Denne was living as in the household of her son-law-law Rev Rennel Francis Wynn Molesworth in Betteshanger Parsonage, Northbourne, Kent, in Northbourne, Kent.      Mary died before 3 May 1866 in Sarre Court, Sarre, Kent. At Sarre Court, Kent, aged 75, Mrs Mary Elizabeth Hilton, of Sarre. She was the eldest dau. of the late Thomas Denne, esq., of Sarre Court, who died in 1821, by Mary, only child and heiress of Henry Collard, esq., of Gore-street, Monkton, Isle of Thanet. She married, in 1818, the Rev. John Hilton, M.A. (eldest son of John Hilton, esq., of Lords, near Faversham, Kent), who died in 1861, and is succeeded in the family estate by her grandson, John William Denne Hilton, esq., eldest son of the late Rev. John Denne Hilton (who died in 1853), by Elizabeth Frances, sister of Robert Steer Johnson, esq., of Temple Belwood, Lincolnshire. He was born in 1845. She was buried on 3 May 1866.
