Another page gives 22nd of the 2nd month 1652. Betham suggests he is the brother of John Handy of Kilbeg whose will was dated 24 Feb 1711 and therefore the son of Jonathan Handy. He was the son of Thomas Handy and Elizabeth Sain(s) / Saim.

Thomas Handy was born on 20 September 1683 in Newcastle, Tikillin, Wexford, Ireland. Thomas, born at said place [Newcastle] the 26th of ? month, 1683. |His father is mentioned in his will. In 1734 he is described as the eldest son of Thomas Handy of Newcastle. He was the son of Thomas Handy and Sarah Deaves.
     In Thomas Handy's will dated before 4 December 1688 in Newcastle, Tikillin Wexford, Thomas Handy was named as heir.
He was a witness to the will of Jonas Chamberlain, Little Killiaine, Co. Wexford. To be buried at Friends burying place at Cerlekin [Corlican]. To my wife Ann Chamberlain the whole benefit of my lease of Little Killiane and all goods and chattels for life, said lease then to my sons Will and Joshua Chamberlain, they paying their brother Jonas Chamberlain £20. To Ann Kerby one third of my goods and chattels, one third to Susanna Berry and remaining third between said Will and Joshua Chamberlain, said sons to perfect a lease to Joseph Berry, for the lands he now holds from me in Little Killiane, and to pay my son Jonas Chamberlain's children or the survivor of them £5 when of age of on marriage.      Thomas Handy was mentioned in a deed dated 13 May 1753 in Dublin. Thomas Handy, Yeoman, Coolylough, Westmeath, assignment.
     Thomas died on 10 July 1754 in Dublin, Ireland, aged 70.
     His will was proved on 10 July 1754 at the Prerogative Court of Armagh, Ireland. Thomas Handy, late of co. Wexford, left by his last will and testament the sum of £150 to be placed at interest & the interest to be applied for the purpose of putting poor children apprentice & 2/3 for the mens meeting of Dublin, 1/3 to the mens meeting of Wexford. This sum was for a time placed with John Dawson Coates but was afterwards repaid by him. Probate was granted to the executors Handy & Strettle being affirmed as Quakers.

A Samuel Handy was a passenger to Virginia July 1635.
Thomas' descendant Thomas K Handy thought he arrived in 1649 with Cromwell and was a distinguished Officer in the Dragoons and received forfeited estates, which he lost on the restoration and later purchased extensive estates of Coaloalough, co. Westmeath. This person is the right age to be in Cromwell's army..

     Thomas died before 4 December 1688 in Newcastle, Tikillin Wexford. 1688, Thomas Handy the elder, deceased in ... he was convinced of truth & bore a good testimony for it amongst his neighbours, being a peaceable man & one that was for making & preserving peace amongst them. He was kind & loving to Friends & bore a faithful testimony agst Tythes by suffering a long imprisonment: and all though he might not appear much at our province meetings yet he was a concerned man amongst us for the prosperity of truth. He deaprted this life in the year 1688. Another page gives Thomas Handy, senr, 1688, husband of Elizabeth.

     Thomas was a defendant in a court case on 10 February 1697 in Ardnurcher or Horseleap, Westmeath. Henry Doyle of Ballyvaan, co. Kildare, gent v. Nicholas Knight clerk, rector & vicar of Ardnurcher, Oliver Cartan, John Cartan & Thomas Handy defendants. About the tithes of Ardnurcher, no dates or exact details given, mentions that a part of the tythes of Ardnurcher belong to the Blundel family. .
     Thomas was a defendant in a court case on 13 May 1697. Exchequer bill, answer of John Cartan, Oliver Carton & Thomas Handy, defendants to above bill of Henry Doyle, gives no information as to how Handy was mixed up in the matter.
Thomas Handy has exchequer bills from 10 February 1697 to 29 April 1727, but references to Samuel Handy start in 1725.

The above named Thos Handy maketh oath that he is a subscribing witness to the deed whereof the above is a true memorial and saw the above named John Low sign seal and deliver the same as his act and deed and that he is also a subscribing witness to the above memorial & saw the above named John Low sign and seal the same& that he delivered the said deed and memorial to Mr James Saunders Dep ... the 14 Dec 1753 ... He was listed on a deed dated 26 August 1768 as a witness. A Memorial registered on 12 Aug 1779 between Samuel Handy of Collylough & Matthew Moore was witnessed by Thomas Handy.
He may have been the Thomas Handy, yeoman of Bannagher, Kings County, who after the 1798 Rebellion made a claim for the loss of shop goods on the road from Dublin. He calimed £31/12/9 which was allowed.
