Have been employed in my father's business since leaving school in Dec 1894. Received my education at Ballarat & Yarram State Schools. His previous occupation was "assisting in my father's business". His referees were Mr Thomas Clancy, Head teacher of the Yarram State School and the Rev James Francis, Church of England, Yarram.

In May 1902 he was appointed to Wellington NZ, in September that year he was moved to Gisborne, becoming manager in 1912 in Motu/Krotu?? with an allowance for a horse. In June 1919 he was appointed manager at Whakatane and in February 1920, manager at Dannevirke. In 1932 he was appointed manager at Masterton and he retired from there on 16 October 1944.
HIs grandson added that he also managed the Masterton ANZ during the war years, then transferred back to Dannevirke and retired and died there ( not totally certain on the last transfer but will check with my mother and confirm).
Incidentally the bank branch is Motu (the end of the rail which was originally intended to continue on from Gisborne toward Whakatane and complete the connection to the rail at that end).
