     I4th Earl & 1st Marquess (3rd creation) Clanricarde. Son of John Thomas de Burgh, 13th Earl, and nephew of Henry 12th Earl & 1st Marquess (2nd creation). Educated at Eton and entered the Foreign Office. In 1826 Clanricarde became Under Secretary for State for Foreign Affairs under his father-in-law. K.P., P.C. Ambassador to St Petersburg, Postmaster General. Lord privy Seal. See Clanricarde country for a full account of his problems with Irish lands and his political career. Ulick John de Burgh 14th Earl Clanricarde was born on 20 December 1802 in Belmont, Hampshire.
     Ulick John de Burgh 14th Earl Clanricarde married Hon Harriet Canning Lady Clanricarde, daughter of George Canning and Joan Scott, on 4 April 1825 in Gloucester Lodge, London, England. She married the 1st Marquess of Clanricarde and through her descend the Earl of Harewood, Viscount Boyne, Viscount Chandos, Baron Lloyd, Viscount Allendale, Baron Beaumont of Whitley, Baron Poltimore, Viscount Lond, Baron Wraxall, Baron Northbrook, the Earl of Mexborough, the Countess of Carlisle and Sir Charles Cooper Bt. and a host of other families in England & Ireland.
     Ulick died in 1874.
