He may be the John Vodry who witnessed the will of William Hart on 13 April 1722 with John Ashby.

She was the daughter of Richard Farrell and Dorothy Vodry. Margaret Rebecca Vodry was christened on 24 March 1758 in St Phillip, Barbados. Margaret Rebecca Vodry married John Lewis Ashby, son of Edward Ashby and Susanna Cutting, on 30 March 1782 in St Michael, Bridgetown, Barbados. John Lewis Ashby to Margaret Rebecca Vodry. Banns having been duly published.
     In John Lewis Ashby's will dated 28 November 1801 in St Michael, Bridgetown, Margaret Rebecca Vodry was named as heir. She was widowed on 14 January 1802 on the death of her husband John Lewis Ashby.
     Margaret died on 2 September 1823 in St Michael, Bridgetown Barbados, aged 66. Septr 2nd 1823 This evening at 8 o'clock died Margaret Rebbeca Ashby mother of the above children & relict of J L Ashby.. The Barbadian newspaper reported: Mrs Ashley, widow of Dr John L Ashley.. She was buried on 3 September 1823 in St Michael, Bridgetown Barbados.

     Rev DeBerniere Waddell was the son of Col Haynes Waddell and Mary Fleming.
Trinity Episcopal Church was established in Union Springs by Rev. DeBerniere Waddell in 1872 as a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama with seventeen communicants and an annual budget of $412.50. Until 1879 services were held monthly in the County Courthouse or in churches of other denominations.
In 1879 the congregation purchased a small wooden store building diagonally across Prairie Street from this site. Remodeled as a church, services were held there until completion of the present church.
The current building was designed by a local high school senior, Richard Kennon Perry, who went on to become a notable architect. Erected on a lot provided by the Foster family, the Gothic-revival building features stained glass windows and dual front entrances appropriate for the interior plans popular in southern churches built between 1880 and 1920. The marble cornerstone indicates the church was completed and dedicated to God in 1909.
