The will of Thomas Cocksedge, of Stowlangtoft, gentleman, mentions being infirm in body but of sound mind ... gives his brother Abraham Cocksedge his copyhold, messuages, lands, tenements etc whatsoever and gives to his uncle Mr Henry Cocksedge of Thetford and his brothers in law namely Thomas Garnham and John Cole and to the survivor ... case my said brother Abraham shall think fit to marry with their approbation ... and if my brother shall not think fit to marry and shall live to 31 ... his sisters Rachel, Elizabeth & Sarah ... he requests a memorial to his father, mother & grandfather's estates.
