Derek Tilford of Solihull descends from this line. He writes: Having sorted that lot out, it looks as if the parents of my William Cocksedge are probably Thomas Cocksedge and Mary Sayer who were married in Elmswell in 1826 and had three children: William b.1828 Elmswell, Robert bapt. 1833 in Elmswell and Mary Jane bapt 1833 in Elmswell with Robert. William (George) in the 1861 census had listed his place of birth as Elmswell. There was a possibility that William came from a Hessett family but another Cocksedge researcher who lives in Coventry reckoned that this was not likely as that family emigrated to Oz.
