John Edward Irwin married Arabella Paul, daughter of George William Paul and Sarah Jane Dalton, on 10 January 1855 in West Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. He married secondly Mary Sarah Ingram and had issue by her.
Married. At West Maitland, on the 10th instant, by the Rev. Robert Chapman, John Edward, third son of the late Major Innes [sic], to Arabella, fourth daughter of the late Mr. George Paul, of Sydney.
. John He was appointed Lieutenant in the NSW Naval Brigade on 23 June 1863 and was mentioned in the 1867 list in that role.
     John died in 1897? In New South Wales. Mr Charles Durham was the executor of his will. He was buried in St Jude's, Randwick.
