A John Puckey appears among the Caulkers at Plymouth from 1717 to 1721. He was a Quarter Man at 2/6 a day [ADM 42/829-833]. He was possibly the father of Richard Puckey who entered Plymouth Yard on 8 June 1715 as Servant to Richard Earle, Shipwright [ADM 42/828]. He was still the servant of Richard Earle in 1721 [ADM 42/833], and would have been of an age to be the husband of Elizabeth Fawler.
Richard Puckey married Elizabeth Fawler, daughter of Thomas Fawler and Susanna Hulbert, on 22 April 1726 in Stoke Damerel, Devonport, Plymouth, Devon.
