     Guy Fairfax was born in 1519 in Steeton, Yorkshire. He was the son of Sir William Fairfax and Isabel Thwaites.
     Guy died after 1584. He was declared insane by 1584. He was Lieutenant and died without issue.

Sir Guy Fairfax

     Sir Guy Fairfax was born before 1420 in Walton, Yorkshire. He was the third son of Richard of Walton by Anastasia, dagahter of and co-heir of John Carthorpe. He was the son of Richard Fairfax and Eustachia Carthorpe.
     In 1425 he was Commissioner of array for the West Riding and in 1640 he wass joined with Sir William Plumpton and aother to enquire concerning lands of Richard, Duke of York ....
     Guy Fairfax, Sir, b. 1454, d. 1495, Yorkshire, Margaret Isabel Ryther, b. 1446, Rither, (daughter of Sir William and Isabella (Gasciogne) Ryther).
     Sir Guy Fairfax married Isabella Ryther, daughter of Sir William Ryther and Elizabeth Gascoigne, in Yorkshire.
     He built Steeton Castle in 1470.
     In Sir William Ryther's will dated 20 June 1475 in Ryther, Sir Guy Fairfax was named as executor of the estate.
     In 1476 he was appointed Recorder of York which position he held for about a year. Guy was appointed Judge of the Court of the King’s Bench on 29 September 1478. He was Recorder of York 1460-77, Attorney General, Judge of the King's Bench 1478, a Yorkist, built Steeton Hall c. 1477. .
During the War of the Roses he was an enthusiastic supporter of the House of York. Having escaped with his life on Towton Field, he eventually obtained permission to bear the white rose on the shoulder of the lion in his coat-of-arms. He attained a high position in the law in the reign of Edward IV. He was recorder of York, Chief Justice of Lancaster, in 1463 a King's Serjeant, and in 1477 he was a judge of the King's Bench. His marriage with Isabella Ryther, granddaughter of the famous Chief Justice Gascoigne, had probably, observes Sir Clement Markham, some bearing on his success at the Bar ....
     Guy died in 1495 in Steeton, Yorkshire. He was buried in 1495 in Bolton Percy, Yorkshire. He was buried in the quire with his wife.

Henry Fairfax

     Henry Fairfax was born say 1525. He was the son of Sir William Fairfax and Isabel Thwaites.
     Henry Fairfax married Dorothy Aske, daughter of Robert Aske and Ann Sutton.
     Henry Fairfax made a will dated 29 April 1599.
     Henry died circa 1599 in Bilbrough, Yorkshire. Had issue, see Dugdale's Visitation of Yorkshire. He is probably the Henry who married Dorothy Aske - daughter of William, or of his father Robert & Ann Sutton.
     His will was proved on 31 January 1599/0 at the Prerogative Court of York.

Henry Fairfax

     Henry Fairfax was born on 14 January 1588 in Denton, Yorkshire. He was the fourth son. He was the son of Sir Thomas Fairfax (1st Baron) and Ellen Aske. Henry Fairfax graduated in 1606 from Trinity College, Cambridge University, with a Bachelor of Arts. Henry Fairfax, BA from Trinity College, Cambridge 1606, Fellow 1608, incorporated as MA 9 July 1611 (4th son of Thomas Lord Fairfax) rector of Ashton under Lyne 1619, and of Newton Kyme, Yks 1633-46, canon of York 1645-55, rector of Bolton Percy 1646-60; died at Olgelthorp Yks, 6 April 1665, father of Brian 1651. Henry was in Holy Orders and was the Rector of Bolton Percy. He inherited Oglethorpe near Tadcaster; Fellow if Trinity College, Cambridge, 17 Sep 1608. He was Rector of Ashton-under-Lyne in 1627, and then of Newton Kyme and of Bolton Percy, 1646-60.
     Henry Fairfax married secondly Lady Mary Cholmondeley on 4 February 1626 in Yorkshire.
     Henry died on 6 April 1665 in Oglethorpe, Yorkshire, aged 77. He was buried in Bolton Percy, Yorkshire.

     Henry Fairfax 4th Baron Fairfax was born on 30 December 1631 in Oglethorpe, Yorkshire. Henry succeeded his cousin, Thomas, and was the 4th Lord Fairfax.
19. Henry Fairfax, Hon, b. 20 Apr 1659, Bolton Percy, d. 1708, Toulston, Yorkshire, m. 27 Sep 1684, Anne Harrison, b. South Cave, d. Aug 1733, (daughter of Richard Harrison). Henry inherited his mother’s estate at Tolston. He was High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1691. He was the son of Henry Fairfax and Lady Mary Cholmondeley.
     Henry Fairfax 4th Baron Fairfax married Frances Barwick circa 1652 in Yorkshire.
     Henry died on 13 April 1688 aged 56.

     Mary Fairfax married George Villiers 2nd Duke of Buckingham on 15 September 1657. They had no issue.
     Mary died in 1704.

     Sir Nicholas Fairfax was born. He was the third son, Knight of Rhodes (the Rodes). Burke's Commoners has him as the brother of Guy not the son. He was the son of Sir Guy Fairfax and Isabella Ryther.

     More information about Sir Nicholas Fairfax may be found at http://issuu.com/jamiei/docs/gilling-20and-20its-20families. He was born between 1498 and 1504 in Gilling, Walton, Yorkshire. He was aged 22 when he succeeded his father who died in 1520!. He was the son of Sir Thomas Fairfax and Anne Gascoigne.
     He was Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1531, 1535, 1544 and 1561.
     Nicholas died on 30 March 1571. There is a stone effigy in Gilling East church, the church guide states 1572, He married Jane Palmes c 1516 and they had 8 sons and 5 daughters. He married secondly Alice Parrington but had no issue by her. He was succeeded by his eldest son William who died in in 1597.

     Peregrine died in La Rochelle, France.
