     Rev Richard Handcock married Sarah Toler.
     He succeeded to the estate of his eldest brother.
     Rev Richard Handcock and John Gustavus Handcock were mentioned in a deed dated September 1742. Richard Handcock of Willbrook, Westmeath to John Gustavus Handcock of same, lands of Legan? & Carrow-neagh in barony of Kilkenny, Westmeath for the lives of above named & of SarahToler, daughter of Richard Toler of Dublin ... Registered 15 Nov 1742. Richard was the Dean of Achonry. He was also vicar of Athlone 1755-91 at Ireland in 1753.

     Richard Handcock 2nd Baron Castlemaine was born on 14 May 1767 in Willbrook, Westmeath, Ireland. He was the son of Rev Richard Handcock and Sarah Toler.
     Richard matriculated at Trinity College, Dubllin, on 28 July 1784.
     Richard Handcock 2nd Baron Castlemaine married Ann French on 13 November 1790.
     Richard Handcock 2nd Baron Castlemaine was mentioned in a deed dated 19 April 1811 in Athlone, Westmeath/Roscommon. Richard Handcock of Athlone mentions his third, fourth & fifth sons John Gustavus aged 13, George aged 8 and Henry Robert aged 4 in a renewal of lease.
     Richard died on 18 April 1840 in Dublin, aged 72. He was buried on 21 April 1840 in Athlone, Westmeath/Roscommon, Ireland. His memorial states: To the memory of Richard Hancock Baron Castlemaine. This monument is
erected by the grateful affection of his family. To whom he discharged
all the duties of husband father and friend with the fidelity and affection
of a Christian. He was removed from this Earthly scene on the 18th April
1840 by a lingering illness which he bore with Christian patience, and
resigned his spirit into the hands of his Creator with the most unshaken
reliance on the finished work of Jesus for pardon and acceptance with God.
He was deeply lamented by his family and universally regretted by his friends.
