     In Elizabeth Waring's will dated 9 March 1787 in Cawthorne, YKS, Martha Rich was named as heir; This is the last will and testament of me Elizabeth Rich of Daw Walls in the township of Cawthorne in the co. York, widow. First I will that all my just debts the expenses of my funeral and the charges attending the probate of this my will be paid and satisfield Also I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my goods cattle chattels and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my daughter Elizabeth the wife of John Sanderson and my daughter Martha the wife of William Wood the younger equally to be divided between them ... and to be executrixes. There is no mention of a grandson Edward, let alone as son of Edward, unless he is one of the un-named children of Edward's son Amor but he seems too old for this relationship.
     In the name of God Amen the Eighteenth day of July AD 1652 Aymor Rich of Smallshaw in the parish of Penniston and county of York; being in good health of body and of good and perfect memory, Gods name be praised therefore and desirous to dispose of my worldly Estate now in my health, All former wills by me heretofore made disallowed and revoked, I do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, First I bequeath my Soul to God hoping assuredly to be saved by the death and passion of Jesus Christ, And my body to the Earth from whence it came, to be disposed at the discretion of my executors hereafter named;

     Mary Rich and John Rich were mentioned in a deed dated 3 November 1746 in re Cathill, Hoyland Swaine, Silkstone. Indenture dated 3 Nov 1746: 1 - John Rich of Jowitt House, Cawthorne, yeoman (eldest son & heir at law of John Rich, yeoman, deceased and Sarah his wife and Jonathan Batty of Miln near Holmfirth, Almondbury, cordwainer and Mary his wife (one of the daughters of the said John Rich deceased); 2 - William Taylor of Cawthorne, yeoman; 3 - Rebecca Hall of White Lee in the chapelry of Bradfield, widow re property at Cathill in the township of Hoyland Swaine in the parish of Silkstone etc. previously occupied by Thomas Caldwell, now by John Denton. Final concord re Cathill, the messuage, garden, orchard 10 acres of lands, 5 acres of meadow, 5 acres of pasture in Hoyland Swain, Silkstone, consideration £60.

     Mary Rich married William or Abraham Hague on 24 August 1778 in Ecclesfield. Wm Hague schoolmaster of this parish & Mary Rich of this parish were married in this church by banns 24 August 1778, both signed in the presence of .... & Matthew Stringer Hobson's transcript gives Abraham as his name.
